Work has now been completed on the building of our new permanent scorebox and temporary umpires’ changing facility. The latter will revert to a storage space when our pavilion extension and refurbishment plans come to fruition.
The Club is grateful for the financial support of the Surrey Championship League, the Surrey Playing Fields Association and the ECB/Jewsons scheme which is part of the Natwest Cricketforce programme. Furthermore we are indebted to the massive contribution of volunteers Gary Batten, Callum Batten, Sam Tyler, Richard Hackney and Rob Deven. Gary project managed the construction works and organised the necessary skilled labour at very favourable rates whilst Richard and Rob devoted a number of evenings to complete the electrical wiring.
The result provides the conscientious scorer with an oasis of tranquility in which to carry out his/her duties and a quiet retreat for the umpires to prepare for, and reflect upon, their day’s work.
