CAREER RECORDS UPDATED WITH 2022 SEASON STATS

Career records have been updated to include the 2022 season.

Several milestones have been reached and here are some of the notable ones:

Qualifying for the Hall of Fame (200 matches for the Club) are Tom Hansom, George Mickley, Tim Richards and Sam Tyler. Lewis Deven and Charlie Black are each just 2 games short of qualifying.

Already in the Hall of Fame, Matt Hockin has now passed 1200 matches and Liam Blake 500 matches.  Ish Hussain needs 6 more to reach 500 whilst Neal Jones needs 21 to reach the same milestone. Glyn Clough needs 2 more and Rob Deven 8 more to reach 300. Jamie Collett and Pete Horobin are now half way to a place in the Hall of Fame having each reached the more modest total of 100 matches.  

Some on field achievements, Andy Savage has passed 12000 runs, Glyn Clough 7000, Roland Hockin and Neal Jones 5000, Sam Crabtree and Tim Richards 4000, and Josh Hill 1000. Charlie Black has reached 200 wickets whilst George Mickley and Lewis Deven have also reached 200 wickets along with taking 50 catches.

A few more obscure statistics, in his 1208 matches Matt Hockin has batted 1170 times and been not out on 100 occasions or 8.5% of his innings. In comparison Malcolm Denham has been not out in 20.9% of his 1219 innings, Tim Buzaglo 25.3% of 875 innings and Roland Hockin an amazing 45.2% of 467 innings. This was outdone by father Malcolm Hockin (1978-1992) who was not out in 51.1% of his 180 innings. Batting order is obviously a significant factor.

Turning to bowling, of current players who have sent down more than 1000 overs Sam Crabtree has bowled 15.6% of his 2371 overs as maidens, Malcolm Denham 21.0% (9853 overs), and Roland Hockin 23.0% (6551 overs). None of these compares with the legendary Barry Lancaster (1964-1997) who had a maiden percentage of 29.4% (6601 overs). Charlie Black takes a wicket every 4.58 overs on average, George Mickley 4.59 overs, Lewis Deven 4.75, Sam Tyler 4.77, Sam Crabtree 4.96, Malcolm Denham 5.23 and Roland Hockin 5.91. The corresponding figure for the aforementioned Barry Lancaster is 5.96.

Of our current players likely to be seen keeping wicket Liam Blake has snared 306 victims (238 ct, 68 st) and Glyn Clough 254 victims (195 ct, 59 st). Both have a fair way to go to catch Nigel Franklin (1979-2007) who can boast an incredible 769 victims (429 ct, 340 st).
